Industrial Covers

Bellows are crucial for protecting valuable machine components such as machine ways and ball screws from damage by guarding against abrasives and liquids.

CENTRYCOVERS, formerly known as Elasticones, provide protection as well, but they’re a different kind of machine guard.

These helical metal covers surround and protect critical cylindrical mechanisms: their overlapping coils seal out the contaminants while wiping away dirt and debris with each thrust. The spring action holds the unit in place as it expands and compresses between two parallel surfaces. Simple flanges may be used to position the cover, which is normally installed over the end of a rod, shaft or screw assembly. However, wind-on models are available to be wound onto the rod, shaft or screw without the necessity of partially disassembling the host machine. (See link to installation guide below.) Covers are also available in stainless steel to address applications subject to rusting or pitting. Sizes range from Internal Diameters of 7 to 300 mm with extended lengths of up to 4500 mm. Over 2,000 custom sizes are available with delivery normally between 1 and 2 weeks.

Telescopic Spring Guards

Also known as spiral springs (Elasticones), telescopic springs are designed to protect against mechanical damage and accidents in areas with rotating parts, such as shafts and spindles. Spring guards typically protect a spindle, ball screw, or lead screw on a machine tool.

Our telescopic spring covers (CENTRYCOVER®) are available in 1095 polished blue carbon steel to provide long life and maximum protection of your rods, shafts, and screws from chips and other destructive elements. An equally important use is as a safety barrier to seal off pinch points and other hazards to prevent operator injury. CENTRYCOVERS are also available in stainless steel or beryllium copper to address applications subject to rusting or pitting.

Spring Guards for Lead Screws

Lead screws also known as translation screws are mechanical components that convert rotational or turning motion into linear motion. Lead screws must be protected from debris, chips, and coolant to ensure 3D printers, line actuators, and other machine tools work properly and are rid of contamination.

Our telescopic spring guards are primarily designed to protect lead screws from chips, dust, debris, and other contaminants that can hinder optimal performance and reduce the lifespan of the threaded rod. The telescopic nature of these spring guards ensures the covers can expand and contract as the lead screw moves.
